Our Set up

This is a view from the patio towards the birdroom. We have a fish pond at the front of the birdroom and an aviary on the end. This aviary is not used to house budgerigars but redrumped parakeets bred by Pat in the small aviarires doteed around the garden.
This is the view of the cages along one side of the birdroom. We can use the cages as breeding cages by inserting dividers between the cages or as stock cages without the dividers. We tend to use a maximum of 28 cages for breeding and the top ones for the young prior to going in the baby flight.
This is the first cage the young go into once they have left their parents. There is an older bird or two in the cage to help them find the food and water pots.
This is the baby flight where young birds are kept. This flight usually has current year bred birds in only.
These are the inside flights where we keep all our stock birds not currently breeding. There are two flights each containing a mixture of cocks and hens. We tend not to segregate our cocks and hens.
